About Glenn

I’m Glenn Klingler and I'll be your guide. I was born and raised in northwest Ohio and completed my B.S. in Wildlife Management at The Ohio State University in 1989. I embarked on a 31-year career in public service, of which the last 25 were spent with the federal government. I spent over 21 years as a wildlife biologist specializing in endangered species, predominantly birds. I’ve collected and analyzed data on projects studying northern/Mexican spotted owls, Kirtland’s warblers, Hawaiian stilts, red-cockaded woodpeckers, peregrine falcons, marbled murrelets, elegant trogons, black-footed ferrets, Chiricahua leopard frogs and Karner blue butterflies. I also conducted extensive field work on the critically-endangered Hawaiian crow (‘alala) on the Big Island of Hawaii, where I lived in a remote field camp for three years. The last ten years of my career were spent managing National Wildlife Refuges in Arizona, Hawaii and West Virginia. I have spent time birding in Arizona dating back to 1995 and have lived in the state for over nine years. I also co-lead tours in Arizona as well as other states for established bird tour companies. I currently live in the Sulphur Springs Valley of southeastern Arizona.
